Best Taping Technique for Heel Pain (Plantar Fasciitis)

Updated June 27, 2025

Taping for Heel Pain & Plantar Fasciitis: If you’ve been following some of my recent blogs about heel pain and plantar fasciitis, you’ve heard me talk all about the various types of heel pain, what causes it, and what you can do about it.

Since heel pain can be tricky to get rid of at times, successful treatment often requires a combined approach, including a mix of the following:

  • Stretches
  • Proper footwear
  • Hands-on therapy
  • Custom orthotics
  • Night splints

Up until now, I really haven’t talked about one additional component: taping.

When you’re first dealing with heel pain, you want instant relief.

And while things like stretches, supportive shoes and hands-on therapy often give you some level of immediate relief, it usually takes time for everything to really start to work and relieve your pain.

This is why I love taping so much!

With the technique in the video below (low dye arch taping), people often experience an immediate reduction in their heel pain and plantar fasciitis.

Why does taping work so well?

I’ll explain more in the video, but basically this taping technique helps to support the arch of the foot and unload the stress from the plantar fascia.

So if you’re suffering from plantar fascia and heel pain along the bottom of your heel, you’ll definitely want to check this out!
