Sacro-Iliac Joint (SIJ) Pain – 3 Steps to Pain Relief
Updated Sept 19, 2025
Sacro-iliac joint (SIJ) pain is the third most common cause of lower back pain and sciatica that we see in the clinic (behind bulging discs and degenerative changes).
For most people, this is the most challenging type of pain to treat, based on several factors:
- SIJ pain won’t show up on an x-ray or MRI (hard to diagnose)
- Most PTs and chiropractors know about it but aren’t good at treating it (and often avoid it)
- Some physicians don’t even know SIJ pain exists
In today’s video, I’ll tell you our 3-step approach to helping people eliminate this type of pain.
The 3 steps include:
- Align the Pelvis
- Improve Strength
- Eliminate Bad Habits
This approach is very effective for treating SIJ pain, which as I mentioned is often overlooked by doctors, chiropractors and physical therapists.
If you think you have SIJ pain, and you’d like to learn how to get rid of it for good, I think you’ll like this video!
Also, if you’re struggling to get rid of your lower back pain, with or without sciatic nerve pain, and you’d like some help, call or text us today at (509) 892-5442 so we can help you get started!
